El Calafate

EL CALAFATE

After New York we went to El Catalafe in Argentina. We met at the Mexico City’s airport. Our flight was at 5 pm but we had to arrive 2 hours before. We couldn’t get a direct flight so we chose a layover flight in Buenos Aires airport. The first flight lasted 12 hours. We recommend you prepare your favorite book, a film or some chapters of a series because it could be boring. We also have prepared a sleepy cushion because we always suffer from jet lag. While it’s 12 pm in México, in Argentina it’s 3 pm. When we got off the plane it was 8 am, and the next flight was going to be at 10 am, luckly it delayed for an hour so we had breakfast. Then we arrived to El Calafate at 10.40 am, after than my best friend Melina picked us up, so we’re staying in her house.

There was a lot of turbulence during the flight to Buenos Aires because it was raining when we were approaching. We left our baggage and Melina and her grandmother had prepared a brunch for us, we ate Revuelto de gramajo, it was so delicious. After that we took a shower and we dressed up. We went to Los Glaciares National Park. The tourist guide told us that it’s the biggest park of Argentina. Then we went climbing Chaltén hill, it was exciting but we felt panic to fall down so we hired an instructor to learn. Then we just went hiking all around Rock Lake.

The next day, we visited El Calafate History Museum which has dinosaur fossils. There were skeletons, images, replicas and some interesting prehispanic sounds. El Calafate is colder than Buenos Aires but, it’s also less wet than Buenos Aires. For the next few days, we’re planning to visit Laguna Nimez reserve because we love painting so it’s a perfect place. Finally, we’re going to buy some souvenirs for our families and friends.
